On the southern edge of the Peak District and at the head of the lovely Dovedale, Ashbourne’s setting is a particularly fine one, as it in turn will make a very fine setting for your big day. Within the town too there are some outstanding spots like its old grammar school and almshouses, and of course the medieval church of St Oswald, one of the most beautiful in England. It’s a pleasant and quiet place for your wedding too – except perhaps when its famous no-holds-barred ‘football’ match takes place on Shrove Tuesday!
