Maybe your wedding won’t be quite as historically significant as Battle’s great claim-to-fame, this being the site of William the Conqueror’s defeat of King Harold, though for you and your loved ones it is doubtless pretty close. And we hope that your celebrations are as big a blast as the day in 1798 when the gunpowder mill went up, though in your case we hope that’s a metaphorical rather than literal equivalent. This High Weald town has a nice atmosphere, and is one of the prettier spots in a pretty area, one of the highlights the ancient abbey that commemorates the Norman victory here.
