If you are looking for good omens for your wedding day venue, then the original derivation of Sherborne’s name – clear stream – may be one to tuck away. The fact that its most famous building is the grand 15th century church of Sherborne Abbey, renowned for its huge bell Great Tom spreading the news of major events – and your wedding is surely one of those – is another.
