If the thought of Mr Darcy sets your pulse racing, then Sudbury could have a little place in your heart, some of the scenes from the BBC version filmed in its fine old Hall. The South Derbyshire village is a small one, its setting in the lower Dove Valley providing a fine backdrop to some equally fine buildings, not least the ancient church and a venerable coaching inn. If you are looking for a quiet spot for your wedding this could well be it – that quiet helped no end by the blessed bypassing of the village in the Seventies.
