"We held our wedding reception at Bishopswood House at the end of April and enjoyed a fantastic day. We hired the house and were recommended caterers by Jenny Freeman. Having the venue to ourselves made the day very personal with every detail designed just fo us. We were lucky with the weather but we also took advantage of the gorgeous reception hall for further photos. We can't recommend this venue enough!!"

Set in a magnificent 1000 acre estate, resting sedately above the glorious Wye Valley, Bishopswood House provide the perfect venue for wedding receptions, special family occasions and all types of functions. We are also licenced for Civil Ceremonies.

There are three elegant reception rooms, a stunning entrance hall with sweeping staircase, gallery landing and glass domed ceiling, extensive lawns and formal gardens.

Bishopswood House will handle as many of the arrangements and details as you wish – catering, flowers, entertainment – everything to make your day a memorable one.

For guests requiring an overnight stay there is an interesting diversity of accommodation including twin and double rooms with luxury en-suite facilities, four poster beds and an intriguing suite of rooms at the very top of the house, perfect for the whole family to treat as its own private getaway.

Taking over the whole house and grounds, you can plan your day exactly how you wish, perhaps a marquee and fireworks in the garden with a band and dancing beneath the glass dome, or a more traditional reception with top table and all the trimmings – the choice is yours.
