Bodelwyddan Castle in North Wales is set in 250 acres of picturesque parkland. The house was remodelled as a castle in the 1830s but parts of it date back to the fifteenth century. The interior was lavishly renovated in the 1980s to create a backdrop of Victorian splendour against which are displayed some of the nation’s finest examples of Victorian painting, sculpture and furniture.

Bodelwyddan Castle has three beautiful rooms for civil wedding and civil partnership ceremonies.
*The Sculpture Gallery is a large hall with vaulted ceiling and fine examples of work by local-born Victorian sculptor John Gibson.
*The sumptuously decorated Dining Room features portraits of famous 19th century figures and a carved marble fireplace.
*The Ladies’ ‘Drawing Room, decorated in the late Regency Style and with an east facing bay window, provides an intimate room for a small number of guests.

After the ceremony, the historic grounds provide the perfect setting for photographs and include formal gardens, rolling parkland and woodland framed by the magnificent Clwydian Range and with views of the sea over Rhyddlan Castle. The Castle’s historic rooms are also available for photography although some restrictions apply on the use of certain items of furniture.

You may also wish to hire the grounds to continue with your celebrations. The stunning parkland offers the ideal location for a marquee reception. Additional charges apply.
