On the north bank of the River Eden, 10 minutes east of Carlisle, situated off the A689, sits a Baronial Mansion overlooking stunning parkland with an award winning restaurant and wine cellar.

A combination of the Antiques Roadshow and Masterchef, which has been lovingly restored over the last twenty years or so, this stately house dating back to 1805 has been filled with antique furniture and treasures. Tastefully designed decor in all eleven bedrooms.

The cuisine style is British at its best or French, depending on your choice from the extensive a la carte ot table d'hote menus. All breads are home-made and there is a plentiful supply of starters and main courses on the table d'hote menu. To round off the meal there are superb desserts or an excellent choice of English and Continental cheeses. The attentive and caring staff make the meal a memorable occasion and the restaurant is popular with both locals and visitors.

This is an excellent base for exploring the many interests of this rigged part of the country.
