Hever Castle Astor Wing, is an ‘exclusive-use’ venue taking just one group at any one time, thereby guaranteeing privacy and seclusion to make your special day a success. It also means our staff can concentrate fully on you and your guests to ensure the highest standards of comfort, service and cuisine.

This wonderfully historic venue dates back to 1270 and is most famous for being the home of Anne Boleyn, one of Henry VIII’s ill fated wives. In 1903 the American millionaire, William Waldorf Astor, acquired the estate and invested a great deal of time and money in restoring the Castle and instigating the design and building of the Astor Wing which became the family home for many years. It took over a thousand men four years to create the stunning gardens and lake which are as beautiful today as they were, on completion, in 1908.

Although the Astor Wing is now just over a hundred years old its appearance is that of a collection of Tudor houses all of which are connected internally creating an area of 100 rooms. The standard of decoration and comfort is outstanding and still retains the warm and relaxed feel of a family home. The Tudor Suite is a series of three inter-connecting rooms all of which have impressive wood panelling and leaded windows with views of the Castle, Moat and gardens. These rooms are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies and can also accommodate the wedding breakfast.

Celebrations can also continue into the evening using the Moat Restaurant, situated on the estate and able to cater for up to 120 guests.

The Astor Wing also has 21 bedrooms all with en suite facilities. Each bedroom has been individually furnished and decorated to a very high standard.

Hever Castle is pleased to announce a stunning new location for wedding ceremonies and receptions. Summer months will see the Award Winning Italian Gardens come to life as ceremonies for up to 120 guests take place under the beautiful arched columns of the Italian Loggia overlooking the 38 acre lake. This magical lakeside location can also be extended to your drinks reception where guests can take in the views from the stone piazza complete with our very own inspired Trevi fountain. A short walk away is the Guthrie Pavilion. Extensively refurbished in Palladian style, the vaulted ceilings and full length arched windows make for a light and airy atmosphere from day into night without losing the romantic backdrop of the lake and gardens. With a maximum capacity of 200 seated guests and license till 1.00am, the Guthrie Pavilion is available for wedding receptions and disco’s (or live bands) all year round.
