Reception: 120 for a sit down dinner, 200 for a buffet style reception
The Museum of Garden History provides a unique venue for your wedding reception, combining a superb central London location with beautiful historic surroundings and the rarity of a garden.
The former church of St Mary-at-Lambeth was rescued from demolition in 1977 and lovingly restored to house the Museum. There has been a church at this site on the South Bank since 1062, across the river from the Houses of Parliament and next door to Lambeth Palace. The Museums stained glass windows and soaring gothic arches now provide a spectacular setting for evening events.
The jewel in the Museums crown is the beautiful 17th century style knot garden in the former churchyard. The garden is the perfect location for wedding photographs, champagne and canapés or a marquee.
The Museum can accommodate 120 guests for a sit-down dinner, and up to 200 for a reception or buffet.
All proceeds from venue hire go towards developing the Museums collection and improving visitor facilities and educational resources.
