A place fit for Kings and Queens, it has welcomed many; including the Tudor monarchs King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I, and has been the ancestral seat of the influential Sidney family since 1552; a place of lavish entertaining, poetic inspiration, chivalrous acts and notable historical events, for over 650 years.

As an approved venue for civil wedding ceremonies, the awe-inspiring Baron’s Hall and glorious Tudor gardens, one of the most beautiful and oldest gardens in England, offer a most impressive photographic backdrop.

Within these unparalleled surroundings, Penshurst Place maintains its hospitable traditions by also offering a superb dining experience, provided by Leith’s our appointed caterers, famous for their impeccable standards of cuisine. They use only the freshest and finest ingredients available to create mouth-watering dishes which will both impress and satisfy your guests.

The Baron’s Hall can accommodate up to 200 guests for ceremonies and between 80 and 140 for seated dining, with alternative, more intimate, rooms for smaller wedding parties.
