Roman Baths and Pump Room
From the first century AD to the twenty first century, people have been drawn to this place for entertainment and relaxation. What remains today is a remarkable sequence of ancient, medieval and later structures that give testimony to the continuous use of hot water here over nearly 2000 years.
Situated at the heart of the World Heritage Site, the Roman Baths and Pump Room is without doubt one of the most distinctive buildings in the country. The Roman Baths, steeped in history, with its origins dating back 2000 years, is a truly magical setting that will delight and fascinate your guests. Upstairs in the Pump Room, there is a choice of rooms, and the venue can therefore cater for intimate groups as well as much larger wedding parties for up to 200 guests.
What could be more romantic and impressive than exchanging your vows amid the flickering torchlight and rising steam from the waters of the Great Bath? Sunrise Weddings can be followed by a wedding breakfast in the Georgian Pump Room. Or in the evenings, after a Sunset Wedding, you can choose to have your reception in either the Pump Room or Terrace and Reception Hall.
