The Swallow George Hotel is situated in a beautiful riverside location in rural Northumberland, and is only five miles from the historic market town of Hexham. The North Tyne River is readily accessible for game fishing, with permits available at the hotel, and the World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall and many excellent museums are all within a five minute walk.

The hotel dates back to the 1700s, providing a traditional atmosphere in which to relax and unwind. Each of the well appointed bedrooms is en-suite with hospitality tray, hairdryer, satellite television, radio and telephone. Dining at the hotel is available in our Riverside Restaurant which serves a fantastic selection of freshly prepared food and overlooks the magnificent gardens.

The hotel has excellent provisions for weddings, both ceremony and reception. We are registered for civil ceremonies, as well as the new Civil Partnership Act.

We have two rooms suitable for civil weddings. The Kielder Suite that can seat 50 people, and the River Room that can seat 30 people. We can accommodate up to 80 people in the restaurant. We have beautiful gardens running down to the river, perfect for memorable wedding photography.
