An enchanting setting, an historic atmosphere and the most efficient, yet unobtrusive service – those are just three of the reasons that couples choose the Best Western Swan Hotel for their wedding ceremony, reception or both.
The charming 15th century hotel, located opposite Wells Cathedral is licensed for civil weddings and can accommodate up to 100 guests for a wedding breakfast and 150 for an evening reception.
The Oak Room, the Garden Room and Walled Garden are exceptionally beautiful venues for all types of wedding.
Civil Ceremonies
The Garden Room is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies for upto 70 guests. It adjoins the Oak Room and opens out onto the Walled Garden.
Wedding Receptions
The Oak Room on the ground floor boasts its own reception and bar with a large seating area. Up to 100 guests may be seated on round tables for wedding breakfasts. The room is beautifully decorated with oak panelling and interesting antiques. For guests requiring an evening function following their wedding breakfast, we are able to cater for 150 guests. A built in dance floor may be uncovered for evening receptions with music.

Rich in beautiful shades of purple and gold with stunning views overlooking the Cathedral. The bathroom is sumptuous with a roll top bath and the sitting room has its own bar and 36” TV screen. The Cathedral Suite provides a unique residence in the centre of Wells – why not treat yourself to a night of pure indulgence?
