Thirlestane Castle built in 1590, set in the beautiful Scottish Border countryside offers a truly romantic, exclusive setting for an intimate wedding.
This fairytale Castle is arguably one of Scotland’s oldest and finest castles and will provide a memorable location for your wedding, ensuring long and happy memories of the most important day in the life of any couple.
The marriage ceremony would take place in the midst of the grandeur of the State Drawing Room. A champagne reception can be held in the panelled Main Hall and front esplanade and the splendour of the Castle Dining Room can provide a wonderful setting for a wedding reception.
From early spring 2007 our new well appointed bridal apartment will be available and is located inside the castle with views to the front overlooking the green parkland.
Our State Dining Room can seat up to 60 people. If for larger numbers then we would suggest a marquee, which could be for the wedding banquet and evening reception. This would be sited in the Rose Garden and amidst the spectacular architecture of the turreted Castle.
We can supply contacts for marquee hire, caterers, Scottish piper, photographer, wedding cake supplier, accommodation, transport, etc. We can also arrange a wedding consultant who will arrange everything for you should you wish
