Situated in the heart of West Sussex, only 10 miles from Gatwick, 20 miles from Royal Tunbridge Wells and 25 miles from Brighton lies Wakehurst, Kew’s world class botanic gardens. Embodying the soul of the High Weald, couples find themselves enchanted and bewitched by the intricate tapestry of giant redwoods, sharp ghylls and exotic plants from across the globe that Wakehurst has woven across the landscape and across time, a story board of memories that they too hope for and aspire to.
With such a plethora of natural beauty, it is no surprise that Wakehurst offers multiple wedding options and combinations that include the Mansion, the ‘MSB’ (the Millennium Seed Bank) or a marquee as well as the ability to hold either a civil ceremony or partnership plus of course your wedding breakfast.
Wakehurst’s 21st century building is The Millennium Seed Bank, or as it is affectionately known the ‘MSB’. A contemporary glasshouse, it caters for up to 150 guests for your wedding breakfast. The ‘MSB’ is a ‘BST’ option (available from March to October) and offers a back drop of tropical succulents, cool dark granite and glass, offering the option of a truly distinctive modern wedding.
The venue of choice is the fairy tale Mansion a truly ‘lived in’ Elizabethan mansion that offers an intimate and flexible option for ceremonies and partnerships alike for up to 80 guests whilst catering for wedding breakfasts for up to 130 guests.
Last but by no means least, the Croquet Lawn plays host to many a wedding marquee. With an aspect towards the Mansion whilst set back on the Croquet Lawn, your marquee benefits from privacy and stunning views and is regularly combined with an outdoor ceremony for 140 guests hosted on the Mansion Lawn.
