Walcot Hall is the historic home of Lord Clive of India and affords a spectacular setting for a country wedding. It is situated in the village of Lydbury North in South Shropshire and offers the unique opportunity to use this family home, complete with Ballroom, for your wedding celebrations.
The House is approached by a tree-lined drive, via a rustic bridge crossing a mile-long lake. The drive sweeps in front of the house, offering magnificent views over the lakes and Shropshire Hills in the distance.
The Main Entrance Hall is an impressive room with marble pillars, gilded ceilings and a dramatic floating staircase. This room can be hired for reception drinks or a civil marriage ceremony and will accommodate 150 seated guests.
From the main entrance, guests proceed into a walled courtyard and up a flight of stone steps to the Anteroom and adjoining Ballroom. This room will hold a maximum of 200 people, although for formal, seated dining a comfortable number is between 120 and 150 guests.
All furniture, tableware and glassware is provided and no restriction is placed on your choice of caterer, bar service or florist. The venue can be hired for an exclusive 48 hour period and there is self-catering accommodation on site for 40 guests.
