With majestic turrets, rose-pink stone and surrounded by parkland, Thirlestane Castle in the Scottish Borders is a fairy tale setting, just 35 minutes south of Edinburgh. Nestling in the gentle Scottish Borders hills, this hidden gem is one of the oldest & finest inhabited castles in Scotland. Enjoy exclusive use of this 16th-century castle where royalty and distinguished guests have been entertained for centuries.

MAGNIFICENT STATE ROOMS
With its 17th-century ornate ceilings the State Drawing Room is a grand space that would offer you a picture-perfect, sumptuous ceremony. The deep colours and portrait-lined walls of the State Dining Room make it an opulent destination for a dramatic wedding breakfast.

INTIMATE SETTINGS
In the oldest part of the castle, the Panelled Room is ideal for smaller weddings or those who want a more private ceremony.

RUSTIC, CONTEMPORARY SPACES
For a different feel, you can continue your celebrations in the Cobbled Courtyard and atmospheric Vaulted Cellar. Our Victorian Kitchen with its original range cooker is a unique space for a quirky elopement or perhaps a family dinner the night before the big day.

OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES
With picturesque backdrops, the gardens and grounds give you lots of options for that perfect wedding shot while your guests can enjoy games on the lawn. Our outside spaces are also a stunning setting for a marquee reception or alfresco ceremony.

MAKE THE CASTLE YOUR HOME
We have a choice of honeymoon suites and other apartments so you and up to sixteen of your guests can extend your stay at the castle. We only do exclusive use weddings so the castle is yours for your big day.

We pride ourselves on a flexible approach to make sure your day is everything you hope it to be. Contact us with your plans and we'll do all we can to make that happen.
