Overview
Sudeley Castle is the most beautiful and historic castle with stunning gardens and grounds and is surrounded by countryside designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. Only a very limited number of weddings take place here every year, each one being designed around the individual couples needs, wants and dreams.

Conveniently located near Winchcombe in Gloucestershire, and drawing couples from around the world, this romantic castle has over 1000 years of history, having passed through the hands of royalty on a number of occasions and now a wonderful family home, it is the perfect setting for exclusive, elegant, fairy-tale weddings. This truly breath-taking Cotswold venue is surrounded by 1,200 acres of country estate and award-winning grounds, the perfect backdrop for unforgettable photographs.

Ceremonies
Within the Castle grounds we are able to offer couples a wonderful choice of ceremonies to suit them and we will be pleased to take the time to discuss all of the available options.
St Marys Chapel, dating from the 15th Century, sits within the heart of the gardens and is the resting place of Katherine Parr, the last wife of King Henry VIII. The beautiful building has the most wonderful uplifting atmosphere and couples are able to have their blessing ceremony with around 100 happy guests.
We also have 3 rooms licensed to hold a civil ceremony from the historic to the informal:
The Library - This small, private library is a treasure trove of fine art and priceless antiques and offers a perfect location for intimate civil ceremonies from between 4 and 50 guests.
The Pavilion This large airy space with floor to ceiling glass walls can accommodate around 120 guests and has the most wonderful outlook across the Terrace to the Cotswold Hills beyond.
The Medieval Banqueting Room - Decorated with an impressive display of armour, featuring a roaring fire and can be magically lit by candlelight, accommodating around 100 wedding ceremony guests.
Alternatively, our wonderful gardens offer you the opportunity to hold your blessing in one of the areas of the gardens that is right for you perhaps in the spectacular Queens Garden, over-looking the Castle or surrounded by flowers in the walled and intimate Secret Garden.

Drinks reception
Your drinks reception can be whatever you want it to beperhaps an elegant formal affair held within the fragrant rose gardens, with every view a photo opportunity or possibly gathered together by the fire in the flag-stoned Banqueting Hall.

Wedding breakfast
Within the Castle and grounds we are able to provide spacious dining and celebration areas within the Banqueting Hall and the Terrace Pavilion to seat up to 120 people. The historic Banqueting Hall is both warm in winter and cool in summer and the Terrace Pavilion has breath-taking views of the surrounding Cotswold Hills.
For larger parties from 140 to 600, marquees can be positioned on our spacious lawns, each lawn having its own stunning backdrop of the most photogenic castle and ruins which can wow your guests.

Accommodation
We currently have 16 beautiful cottages on the Estate which can sleep up to 74 people, including a fabulous Cotswold stone farmhouse to sleep 12 and one of the unique castellated gatehouses at the foot of the main drive.
